Overview of the SMARTFIND M5 Class A Transponder

The SMARTFIND M5 AIS Class A transponder is a powerful marine safety device designed to enhance your navigation experience. It is the first unit to feature an AIS Man Overboard (MOB) and AIS Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) alarm function. The innovative Steer To Rescue display allows for quick navigation to the location of a MOB incident.

This transponder includes a traditional radar-style display alongside an AIS target list and features an embedded coastline map, which plots AIS-equipped vessels without the need for an external plotter connection.

The SMARTFIND M5 operates as a standalone unit but can be integrated with ECDIS, ECS, or chartplotters through NMEA0183, NMEA2000, and USB interfaces. Additionally, it can be connected to a PC system using the included PC AIS Viewer software.
