The Universal RS-232 to RS-422/RS-485 Converter is designed to convert asynchronous RS-232 signals into RS-422 or RS-485 signals and vice versa, operating at speeds up to 115.2 kbps with transmission distances of up to 4000 feet over CATx cables.

For optimal performance, a 120-VAC/12-VDC Wallmount Power Supply (PS1003) is required. It supports full-duplex communications in RS-422 mode, with specific wiring requirements for transmitting and receiving data, including the need for a ground reference wire.
In RS-485 modes, the built-in driver is automatically enabled during active data transmission, allowing for efficient communication with multiple devices. Users can select between 2-wire and 4-wire configurations based on their needs.
